THERE'S NO TOMORROW FOR RED
Tonight Red played with the Workdogs - New York's legendary Rhythm and Blues
enigma. For Red it was the apogee, the apex, the high point - the moment his
whole existence had been leading up to. For the Workdogs it was just another
night.
High points have never been a problem for the Workdogs, a two man
aggregation whose cumulative experience spans more than two decades.
Veterans of New York's High Sheriffs of Blue, Jihad, Blood Clot, No King and
Eyewitness News; founding members of the legendary Chumps and Cigaretz; the
Workdogs have also involved themselves in projects as diverse as DJing road
shows for the Beastie Boys, hanging John Abercrombie's door and raising the
dead. Fueled on blues and beebop, the 'Dogs developed the idea of a guerilla
rhythm section - a streamlined unit with an easily learned repertoire that
could travel anywhere, anytime and work with anyone interested in blues
wildness and running jazz amok. For the Workdogs blowing with a new sideman
- the way it changes the sound - is more than half the fun. That's why they
never play more than one show with the same lineup. For Red this spells T.
H. E. E. N. D. After the Workdogs there is no tomorrow only a succession of
todays, each more unbearable than the one before. Until there- on the
horizon... another Workdogs Show!
For Red it's a chance to relive the greatest experience of his life.
For you an opportunity to find out what all the talking is about.
For the Workdogs it's just another night.
BLUES LIKE NO TOMORROW!
